Big Iron City celebrates its home town heroes for their efforts in making a difference on the world wide web. Since the formation of the Purple Team in December, 1999 they have crossed swords with poor code, bad design practices, abysmal planning, unmaintained sites and the evil machinations of The League of Very Bad Persons. The mayor of Big Iron City has declared today Purple Team Day, and is staging a parade in their honor.

In this special issue, you'll meet each member of the Purple Team, and find out the amazing secret of why they're called that. You'll meet their arch-enemies, The League of Very Bad Persons currently serving time on multiple charges after their crazed rampage against all that is good on the world wide web was ended by The Purple Team. Most importantly, YOU, the average citizen in the street will learn about how to help the Purple Team in the fight for Truth, Justice, Web Standards, Good Design Practices and the American Way on the world wide web.

Famous people have their share of strange fans, but the Purple Team have the strangest of all. A group of web design and development students in Florida at Saint Petersburg College claim not only to have created the Purple Team but to be the Purple Team.
